No, I’m not referring to city blocks occupied by towering steel and stone monstrosities. The precious ground I’m referring to is the same land that feeds thousands, if not millions, of people. Fertile earth is being abused in Indonesia by local “farmers” who earn their living by cutting old-growth trees for their own use, or for sale, at a fraction of its value to local lumber companies. These plots of ground are in danger of being made useless and have been appropriately designated as “critical” land.
One U.S. based company, Arrow Resources Development, is working with Indonesian companies and the Indonesian government to restore the viability of this land.
